Amr M. Elrifai, MDPresident & CEODr. Amr Elrifai has served as the President & CEO of Allegheny International Services since its inception in 1999. He received his Master of Public Health degree in Health Services Administration from the University of Pittsburgh and his Medical Degree from Cairo University School of Medicine, Egypt. He acted as a principal or a major investigator on active and completed grants totaling more than $1.7 million. He has more than 80 publications and scientific articles, and more than 150 presentations. Dr. Elrifai was awarded the Best Paper Award from the Foundation of the European Congress of Extracorporeal Technology, Arles, France in June 1993 and Best Research Project Finalist from the National Association of EMS Physicians (NAEMSP), Naples, Florida in January 1996.
He serves on several local and international editorial boards and scientific review committees, and as a preceptor for many academic and laboratory trainees from around the world. He is a member of various local, national and international medical, scientific and administrative associations. In his capacity as Chairman of Allegheny International, he is active in the international political and health fields and has met in recent years with several heads of states from Qatar, Romania, Costa Rica, Cyprus, Egypt, Nicaragua, Jordan, Namibia and Guinea. Dr. Elrifai also acted as Chairman of various health care companies: Probity Medical International in Baltimore, MD and United Health Care International in Alexandria, VA. His community services included participation on local boards such as The World Trade Center of Pittsburgh, The Pittsburgh Tissue Engineering Initiative, and The Pittsburgh Council for International Visitors. In addition, he served on the prestigious Pacem in Terris Board of Governors chaired by H.M. Queen Rania Al Abdullah of Jordan. Currently he is on the Board of Directors of La Roche College in Pittsburgh. Dr. Elrifai is a frequent guest lecturer to various international universities and medical schools. |
Bethany Conley, M.S.Ed.Director of Operations Bethany has been with the company since 2013. She received her Master of Science in Education degree from Duquesne University and her Bachelor of Arts in English Writing degree from the University of Pittsburgh. Prior to Allegheny International, she taught English as a foreign language for the Chungdahm Institute in Incheon, South Korea. Her role at Allegheny International Services began with coordinating the International Observership Program in various clinical areas across Allegheny Health Network. She has recruited and placed hundreds of international medical students and graduates from different countries into educational, hands-off shadowing experiences where they received an introduction to the American medical system. In addition to running the International Observership Program, Bethany helps to oversee the day-to-day operations of the company, including acting as a patient liaison for international patients seeking care in the U.S.

Christine Alves Pinto, MDMedical Director of CredentialingDr. Pinto has been with the company almost a decade and her first introduction to Allegheny International was through the International Observership Program. Dr. Christine Pinto is board-certified in radiation oncology with a special interest in Breast, Lung, Prostate and Gynecologic Cancer. She is a graduate of the Medical School of the Federal University of Bahia – UFBA (Salvador, BA, Brazil). She is also a graduate of the Principles and Practice of Clinical Research Program of Harvard University Medical School (Boston, MA, USA). Dr. Pinto finished her Residency in Radiation Oncology and is a fully licensed practitioner. She attended patients in the Portuguese Hospital as well as Aristides Maltez Hospital in Salvador as a Radiation Oncologist for 15 years.
Dr. Pinto attended Fellowship programs at Allegheny General Hospital and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. She has participated in oncology seminars for cancer treatment and in various research projects, with published articles on breast cancer treatment, and taken part in Resident Teaching at both Aristides Maltez and Portuguese Hospitals. Currently Dr. Pinto is a partner of Delfin Radiotherapy in Salvador. She is a member of the American Society of Radiation Oncology, The Brazilian Society of Radiation Oncology and The Baiana Radiation Therapy Society. In 2013, Dr. Pinto became the Scientific Advisor for Allegheny International Services dealing with Physicians and Medical Students from from around the world, and in 2016 assumed the position of Medical Director of Credentialing. She is fully licensed (unrestricted license) in Pennsylvania. |
